Founded by mapping methodology creator Dr. Leesa Duckworth, and her long-time friend Dan Shields, a Senior Principle Engineer; Strategic Development Engineering merges Psychology, Business, Process Design and Backwards Planning to reveal the tacit knowledge within individuals and organizations, that enables them to evolve to meet the explicated individual, team, or organizational vision.
With the help of their friend and Advisor Gerry Brown, a professor at Tufts, an expert in Supply Chain, and a long-term consultant himself, the three sought to deliver Dr. Duckworth’s vision to client spaces across the breadth of industry.
Dr. Duckworth created her methodology in 2005, focused on realigning broken teams within high risk/high security environments and later evolved her structure to be equally effective and applicable to individuals. Since 2015, Dr. Duckworth has “mapped” more than 2000 individuals, and several groups and organizations within and across the National Security Industrial complex.

Our Services
A two hour session with one of our expert mapping facilitators that will help the individual customer to articulate their personal development roadmap to achieving their developmental aspirations. These sessions include access to the templates for Intentional Networking, that will help individuals master a new way to effectively network, and an outline structure for building out your individual action plan in text.
Much like the individual roadmapping, this is a facilitated process requiring 1 or more of our expert mapping facilitators, dependent upon the size and complexity of the customer organization. This process includes a high level leadership roadmap facilitation, and then follow up intraorganizational validation research to assure that the applicable organizational elements are all on the same page and can elucidate the “what it will actually take” elements of the higher level roadmap. Included in this package are the initial leadership, and subsequent organization educated roadmaps. Analytics software may be developed as part of this level of activity, and a follow up contract is also available to assure that things are working as expected, and any change can be managed.
Similarly to the small organization package, the large organization roadmapping, analytics and services package includes the higher level leadership roadmap (this may be board of directors or C-Suit level, or just director level depending upon the organization’s structure). Following the initial roadmap development by a team of our roadmapping facilitation experts, the research team will be deployed to dig into the different functional elements of the organization with the high level roadmap in mind; identify the roles and responsibilities of each organizational element in the new roadmap, facilitate discussions and fact-finding regarding what it actually takes to accomplish each evolution and any roadblocks associated with preventing the whole of the organization getting on board with the new vision and strategy. This package will include the development of organization specific analytical tools and tech support, as well as the extended relationship package for follow-on visits and effectiveness checking.
